August Newsletter 2026: “Aging Vitally”

Ayurveda and the Wheel of Vitality
with Cory Tixier , AD, LMTWhat does it really mean to age with vitality?

Join me for an interactive exploration of how Ayurveda looks at longevity, resilience, and well-being. Using the Wheel of Vitality, you’ll reflect on a few key areas of daily life, things like sleep, energy, nourishment, purpose, and notice where you feel supported and where you may be running a little thin.

I’m hoping you’ll leave with a clearer sense and appreciation of what’s already working, what may need more attention, and one small shift you can begin incorporating right away to support greater vitality over time.

Anti-Aging?
by Dr. LoriThis Sunday, August 16, we’ll take a walk down hormone lane and paddle through a swamp of anti-aging strategies like hormone replacement for men and women, peptides and NAD! These are just some of the many enticing lures for the people of today wanting to escape the burdens of aging. When I look around in nature, (which is where I receive my wisdom from), I see that aging is a normal and important part of life. Therefore, when I see books and social media promoting “NOT-Aging” or “ANTI-Aging” it feels in conflict with natural law. You start aging the minute you are born.

It does seem to be part of our human condition to not want to age (unless you’re 13 and want to be 18), and I understand the attraction for people to not want to look their age, I sometimes struggle with whether or not to cover up more grey hair when I go to the hairdresser! Our society feeds on this and offers us things to make us believe we can postpone or beat aging in some way and push decline and death a little further down the road. However, we at Vital Living like to offer other perspectives, other ways of embracing aging and living vitally, gracefully and joyfully for as long as we are meant to be here! Look forward to sharing more on the 16th!

UPCOMING CONCERT SUN SEPT 6th

Virgo a GoGo
Vital Living Mahalo Jason Party
Sunday September 6th
4:00pm – 10:00pm
featuring
ALAKA – 4pm
THE REMAINDERS – 6pm
PETER BOND AND THE WHATEVERS – 8pm
For the last couple years we’ve wanted to have this party to show our deep gratitude for all the work Jason Forester has done to make our mini-concerts a success.  Jason has been the man behind the great sound we’ve had at all of our concerts and Sept 6th is his birthday so it seemed appropriate that we have show that features his musical talents. Originally, we thought we’d have all 4 of his bands perform but unfortunately only 2 could make it so he invited some more talented Virgos and their band, Peter Bond and the Whatevers to headline.  Alaka kick off the show and The Remainders make the connection.  It will be a diverse and fun evening full of original, roots rock, ska, pop, new wave and alternative music.   Music to dance to or just chill out.  Bring the kids, bring your friends and bring food and drink!

Reservations are NOT required for this event but an RSVP would be appreciated.

This is a special FREE event but any donations to support the artists and venue are always welcome!

On site parking is very limited so come early if you don’t want to park on Lokoea Place and walk.

If you need directions or you have questions just respond to this email or contact Tunji at babatunji@gmail.com or (808)636-1285.
